In 1972, National Autistic Children’s week was launched by the Autism Society to help provide the public with a better understanding of autism while giving a voice to autistic children and their families. National Autistic Children’s week evolved into Autism Awareness Month as awareness spread, furthering this important cause.

Autism in the State of New Jersey

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), around 1 in 54 American children are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Nearly 15% above the national average, New Jersey has the highest rate of autism diagnoses. And at the Law Offices of Johanna G. Burke, we fight to ensure autistic children and their families receive the compassionate support they are entitled to as New Jersey state residents.
